Verizon Says It’s Network is Ready for iPhone

21Dec09

Next year, AT&T’s contract with Apple to be the exclusive provider of the iPhone ends. No information has been released announcing any renewal and with so much dissatisfaction, Apple would be smart to cater to a larger audience – Verizon. While Verizon has been busy trashing AT&T in their commercials, they do realize that the iPhone is a very important asset to have – if they can get it.

Verizon Wireless Chief Technology Officer Anthony Melone says that Verizon is ready for any increase in substantial traffic that would no doubt be generated if the iPhone was on their network. One must wonder whether he is being coy and knows something we have yet to find out, or if its all just a market ploy to drive Verizon Wireless stock prices up.
