Hulu to Charge for Content in 2010
Hulu, the ever popular website for watching your favorite TV shows for free is about to get a whole lot less free. It is expected that starting in 2010, the ad-based video website will start charging for content. News Corp. Deputy Chairman Chase Carey had this to say about Hulu:
It’s time to start getting paid for broadcast content online.
An exact time frame for when all of this madness will happen, but sometime next year.
The days of free television on the Internet are already looking numbered. These rich bastards want money, and they want it soon. It will be interesting to see whether or not users are willing to shell out for video content online. A cable bill is already enough right?
