Designing Apple’s Best
Apple makes beautiful stuff, that’s a fact. Who is responsible for most of this stuff? The man in charge of Apple’s most iconic products from the iMac to the MacBook to your iPod and iPhone is Jonathan Ive aka Jony. As Senior Vice President of Design at Apple Inc., he oversees all the industrial designs for Apple’s products. This guy is the guy responsible for all those sexy gadgets you own or wish to own. Not only is aesthetic something that he places at the top of Apple’s priority, but engineering as well.
Carving all Macs and iPods out of single blocks of aluminum? Ives leads the way. Searching for solutions to increase battery life by not making them cylindrical, thus wasting precious space in MacBooks? Jony Ives. He’s not single handedly responsible for every nook and idea, but he is the one that tries to bring Apple to new technical heights and innovations for other companies to follow.
